Hi,
first, I apologize if this topic has already been discussed, I tried searching it but without any success.

After a long pause, I felt like playing the game again. Unfortunately, as I launched the game, eager to see what new features were added since the last time I played, I was greated by... Skyboxes instead of in-game textures. :(
The title screen, browser or in-game menu works just fine, but while playing, all I can see are the skyboxes, on every map.
(By the way, I'd like to say that I appreciate the fine detailled work that has been realized on the skyboxes :D )
Here is a screenshot of it:
I also took a screenshot of my console, everything seems fine but I just can't read those thing:

I am currently re-installing the game to see if that will change something.

    That's... different.

What graphics card are you using and are the drivers up to date? (Let's start at the beginning) :)

Set your graphic card driver settings to default.

    Should help with that problem.

Hi, thank you for your answers.
My graphic card is an old ATI HD 4870x2, drivers are up to date.
Of course, I played NS2 before and never experienced this kind of problems...
I set everything to default, and I still got those skyboxes.
By the way, I really don't know if this could be related but my precaching is extremely slow.
(like, slower than before wich means really slow)

I'm glad to see that this thing is ''different'' it helps to keep entertainment working :D

throw away your natural selection 2 folder in your windows' user profiles app folder.
yes this will make you lose all your settings.

Haha settings ain't that hard to set back ;)
    Unfortunately, no changes.

You know, I'm kinda getting used to moving in the map witohut actually seeing it! Next step is: Targeting invisible skulks thanks to the map (wich works by the way).

turn off your anti aliasing in your graphics control panel and set it to use the application settings :)

Well, this is another failure: on or off I still got to see the landscapes.

Sometimes, it is quite a beautiful sighting...
Eggs to your left, hive to your right and a wonderful supernova at the center

Hmm, judging from the "on/off" remark, did you try turning it on/off on the ingame graphics settings menu? That won't fix the issue, NS2 is using FXAA, which is incompatible with a forced driver setting for antialiasing. Causing the invisible props issue. I actually meant the one in your graphics control panel/driver settings that needs to be set to us the application setting instead.

You are right, I misunderstood what you were telling me.
Thank you for your explanation, but now I have to find out where that ''use the application settings'' is hiding.

    I'll search a little :) .

Catalyst Control Center -> Gaming -> 3D Application Settings -> Anti Aliasing Mode (drop down menu: Use application setting)

It's only needed for NS2 though (and games that need this), so you might want to create a profile just for NS2.exe in case you're playing other games at "max settings" ;)

Kouji_San, you are both knowledgeable an kind.
First, you tell me (twice) the solution to my problem and then you even tell me where I have to look.
It worked, of course, and I'm happy.
So thank you, to all of you who tried and helped me.

I hope this topic might help other in the future.
    Have fun in-game :D
