Haha my voice was hoarse after that game, eyes burning from lack of blinking, stressed out, frustrated. Was awesome lol. I just joined about 30 mins in, commander quit out, I jumped in for the next 2 hours while gorge defending when atrium was under attack NS2 is truly beautiful and incredible sometimes.
I enjoyed the first hour of it before my crash but from what we was talking about in game the marines did do some communication but that's just from sitting in teamspeak
just had a back and forth. thought it was over when we were down to one building hive, but marines let up on the Rt harass, and we pulled it back with 3 ibis and a handful of gorges. lovely game.
Longest game of NS2 I've been in was a 184min long game on Docking. That was build 238 I believe.
Longest game I've ever been involved on was a 35 hour long game of C&C Renegade, where we crashed the servers. Players went to bed only to wake up 8 hours later to see the match still going, it was an epic game.
118 minuets is good, but back in the beta, when sentries where powerful, I was on a game on tram and server room only had 1 entrance (and I think a vent) and there was no sentry limit per room. We had the marines backed into there and we could not break the defence. bile bomb just wasn't cutting it so after two hours we just ready roomed because we couldn't get that last room. We should have won but we just got sick of all the sentries in there killing us and being unable to break it. But for a new build I have to say that is very impressive, games like that are really good games and I love long games where it is back and forth. it is very fun.
I found out last night i accidentally recorded 57 minutes of our 2 hour and a hour game (no wonder i had super lag in the last hour of the game, lol), the last 5 minutes of the match is missing however
Bah, you kids and your music. Back in the old days, games were measured in days, not minutes! Ahh Sanjii...
One of my favorite memories is participating in the 18-hour Battle for Bast on Nano-Gridlock. Along with the three zero-hive comebacks back in the 1.03 days.
Mmmm bringing back the NS PTSD flashbacks! More then one match I've passed out in after it went to the wee hours of the morning, only to wake up later that day to it still going!
Games of up to 8 hours weren't unheard of on ns_nothing I hear, though I never managed to play one
I did. Played ns_nothing for well over hour until I had to quit. Hours later I joined back to the server and the match was still going! Ended up lasting almost the magical 8 hours.

It'll never recover.
I should've taken a break.
It's still a fun watch.

Truely, amazingly, ridiculous.
