I was learning how to use Blender yesterday, and decided to record how import a custom model into a map. No voice or anything, but you can see it's easy to do.
oh lovely! I don't personally use blender but I know someone who was having trouble importing his models through it, and since its open software anyone can have a go at getting their custom models ingame! Useful stuff, nice one.
Excellent stuff. I must give this a watch, I remember using Blender when I first started to learn model. It was easy enough to use.I might grab it again to get some custom things into ns2.
Also good note when doing this is, I noticed when you pulled the model into Spark it started halfway down through the floor. If you set your origin point in blender to the bottom of the model you will not have that issue, it will start there.
So i have been messing around with this quite a bit and for some reason, any time I try and load my model into editor it crashes editor every time. I hit the prop button and search for my model, as soon as it finds it in the library, it crashes. Any idea how to fix this?
I have followed the steps of getting the model into Spark exactly as the OP has shown me.
It clearly comes from the model itself. Maybe a unsupported functionality.
Try to simplify. Or try with the "Cube". Then you'll see if it is a model issue.

If you're exporting from blender, it might look a bit strange. Crashes... nah shouldn't be doing that... but if you do finally get it working, and there's random triangles everywhere, use this to "fix" it.
