Ok, so I join SNIPERLUST2, knowing the sniperlust servers were always top notch from my DOD days. I take marines, the game is pretty fresh, start off decent enough, had the phasegate in main base and I was ready to explore. I meander over to nameless hive (ns_nancy), and see a gorge there building a res tower. What do I do? I kill it. And i did, pretty easily at that. Nothing out of the ordinary...happens all the time... but this doesnt

Read it all for yourself. We're not talking about some random clan server with a wise as llama admin whos on a banning spree, these are high quality, reputable servers, they have their own .com( <a href='http://www.sniperlust.com/' target='_blank'>http://www.sniperlust.com/</a> ), they've been around a while, they obviously take it seriously. Given that, what the hell is the deal? I kill him, I get slayed? I ask him wtf, I get banned? Again i stress that this is NOT a measly leased dead-in-two-months clan server, this is a serious gaming server, with serious players. What kind of server gives admin rights to people like this? Who is this Boomer ~=TBH=~ guy? Why would someone so childish and irrisponsible be allowed these rights?!?! Unless he's the sole founder of all sniperlust servers (even then its pathetic), I would really like to know where he gets off doing things like this and why he was given admin in such a server.

I can figureout WHY someone would do something as dumb as X reason, but not that they're necessarily(got to check the spelling up) right...

Well assuming that they broke it by running some command on your HL they almost certainly didn't break anything perminently (as in break hardware).

mmm, it would be easier if perhaps i knew wtf they did to it...i turns out that they alter your settings instead of doing it server side...which sucks.

They probably used the pablo pluggin for adminmod. It just turns voice_enable off on your client.
execclient(TargetName, "voice_enable 0");
So ither edit your config.cfg and turn it back on. (1) or type "voice_enable 1" in your console, and restart hl. A restart is needed to get the voice comm working again. Or of course turn it back on in the hl menus.

I've used the voice comm gag before, and the ONLY way it can work is by completely disabling your voice comm. But if I remember right, it's as simple as going through into the configuration or multiplayer customization menu again and checking a little box to re-enable it
of course if you don't want to keep a backup, and you don't want to have everything set in stone, then you can migrate your entire config.cfg to autoexec.cfg (you have to create it if you haven't edited it before) and delete the lines that you don't want to be set in stone (such as your name, and your key bindings)
If you want to complain got to the servers forums. NS Forum admins don't move these stupid threads to server and operators thread, just delete them.
