ns_nancy cause its funny when a DF commander builds outside, but otherwise I think its easy for the aliens to win.

Nancy, all he way. THis is the first map where I played NS, and what a game that was! Everybody was just learning how to play, and we just had a blast. There was no skulk rush; no AR spam. We spent a good THREE hours jockeying for control over different parts of the station. It just hasnt been quite the same since.

GO NANCY, the first map that I played at NS was ns_trarith, it was boring stupid noob me was trying to get into the CC, and then the newb COMM build a 5 CC's, but you couldn't use them, then I found out we we're all newbs <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'>. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

since skinhackers have been endlessly crashing the server i play on, which defaults to nancy, i'd have to say nancy, because i know it like the back of my hand by now <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

BAST = BEST becuase i know everyscare inch of Bast Ive played this map for weeks very rarely changing to another map since release and it has becom emy favorite <s>Bob</s> I mean Skulking map.

Gotta be a tie between eclipse and nothing. Half the time I comm on ns_nothing I end up with like 500-1500 res when the marines win.

Ah, but imagine if the Dev team takes a leaf out of DoD's book and creates new maps every major patch?

It could keep the game fresh and prevent people from knowing a map like "the back of their hand." I just think it could add some much-needed mystery.

Hera is the best for me...

Coherent desing (there's no single zone you can say "Damn, this looks like crap"), astounding graphics, great playability, lots of lovable weldeable points, no dead zones (those zones that u will never use in a single match)...

Other favourite maps are eclipse, caged or nothing.

Compared with others, the graphics on nancy are TEH CRAP, substandard illumination, laberyntic vents, and a marine start too small, and lots o bugs (like that where the Commander is able to build outside the map)

I like Hera for it's brightness... makes the Marine's job a whole lot easier when they can see their enemy as bright as day.

Heh, I agree with everything Llama Killer said last page. Bast is the only map I know 100%--I played it first, learned NS on it, and I still admire it for being the only map with a somewhat circular layout, unlike the essentially diamond-shaped layout of all the others. No matter what, it's always fun to play Bast.

Hera is also fun, I've had my best marine experience on that map. It was a long game, lasted over an hour. At one point they had Fades assaulting our base, but we beat them back, stuck together, took orders, and eventually ended with a rush to get a turret factory up outside Data Core Delta. It was good times.

eclipse is my fav, but i have to say this is the first mod ive played where i dont actually dislike a single of the 'official' maps. gg mappers <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'> just hope intrepid will be as popular.

Eclipse is very nice, and it dosent have the ability to take out a hive from a room thats hard to get to. The only bad thing about it is the ledge in Maintenance Hive, very hard to take out anyone on it without being killed as you get off the ladder.

I wish the NS mappers would keep us updated as to how they are tweaking or changing the maps based on input and such, if they are.

too many of you love ns_dust. its the smallest most boring map in the game. Go play nothing or nancy. Get some spice in your life gesh. just because you play ns_dust alot doesnt make it good. And for those too noob to know ns_dust is eclipse.

Gameplay > Size & Looks

Eclipse might not be razzy dazzy but it plays great, and it dosent lag anywhere as near as much as some other maps (ns_nothing im looking at you).

NS_nothing cuz there are soo many damn hiding spots for skulks and cause of the redroom its soo funny how marines can build a base there and I go fade, some1 gives me a boost in that vent and I start acid rocketing 100000 marines <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'>

Bast, Eclipse, Caged, Nothing and Nancy have all their strong points. The only map I really dislike is Hera. It's rather small, but for some reason it's the most complex and dizzying map of them all. I do know it's layout now, but still I can't enjoy it. Too much weldables and alternative routes.

The best map is probably Nancy even with the labyrinths that are its vents. Bast is close second.
