in 3ds max you have the option to weld to target! im sure the devs at unknown worlds know what this feature is and as a modeler, this would allow me to actually make levels in a snap! please consider adding this feature in as it would immensely help me in making levels.

Removed the ALLCAPS from title, please refrain from that for thread titles -Kouji San

I'm assuming you mean something more than the Weld Nearby Vertices (Ctrl+W) or Weld Selected Vertices (Ctrl+alt+W). Are you talking about welding models to geo or something crazy?

target weld is a feature that allows you to select a vertice and to directly weld it to another vertice through your mouse. say you have a complex face that is on its own and you wish to connect it to an already positioned location. target weld allows you to select one vertice and then (target) it individually and then click on another vertice to weld it into place. this way you do not end up moving any undesired vertices out of place.

this is an example of target weld being used in 3ds max 9, here you see a face that has been misplaced and needs to be attached to the cube to be complete, when target weld is selected, it allows you to select one vertice, as seen on the second pic, and then attached to the desired, second vertice. the third pic displays the after math of this transaction.
the last pic shows an almost complete face attached by this process with only one vertice needed to be welded in place.

As a non-modeler, I want this feature. It looks immensely useful.

Also, maybe here is a better place for this?

    You can already do this.

I've been away from the Spark editor for a while now, so I hope I'm getting this right, but:

    - Select both vertices
    - While you have the selection tool active, go to edit and there should be something like 'weld selected vertices' (sshortcut is either [,] or [.], iirc)

Note: this moves the new welded vertex to the middle between the originally selected vertices; you'll have to reposition it to the desired location.

this was my point form the start, i know about this already, i am asking for a more direct way of doing this so that i can choose only one vertice to move not both. this way you can be more direct when welding vertices and dont have to worry about both moving so you wont have to reposition it.

I can only support more features and additional choices for current features. If what you're suggesting would be implemented, I would probably use that a lot more than the current method.

The editor already has a fairly good vertex snap. Just highlight a vertex and start dragging it to another vertex and it should snap it precisely in place. It requires a bit practice since at the same time theres the ortho snap and the move gizmo getting in the way and you have to avoid using those while you start moving. But it works pretty well. After that it's easy to just weld the two vertices with ctrl+w since they are both at the same location.

What I mean by dragging is that you don't press at a axis of the move gizmo, just avoid highlighting any axis on it and you should be able to drag a vertex or any other thing freely.
