[Linux] Why wasn't 64bit targeted?

Looking at steam stats, most Linux gamers run 64bit. In my opinion it just seems like a waste of time to support only people who like 3.2 GB of ram. Just venting because I can't play the game yet. libudev.so.0 missing and segfaults when I link to libudev.so.1.
