Lockable Vents and Baby Lerks?

So a big part of most of the original natural selection 1 maps was the ability to weld vents shut. It gives us more options, more freedom.

Another idea i think that would be good is if the lerk could lay a small egg. Maybe make an animation for it so it throws up and egg like in the movie Evolution. But heres the kicker! Lets make the baby lerk be playable by the other players. Like they hatch into the mini egg. Make it harder for the marines to shoot. Itll be small and fast. Instead of the spore attack it could have the ability to shoot vomit out. Kinda like a mini bile bomb except with acidic affects.

Also, the heavy machine guns from the first one would be greatly appriciated.

    Weldable vents are probably coming.

    Baby lerks... not really seeing the point of that, a bit gimmicky.

    Exos are the new HMGs. Although I would like to see an LMG upgrade to give it more clip capacity, 75-100 bullets per clip and L3 weapons and it's basically the same as the old HMG.

    Yes, because 0 res marines aren't powerful enough already.

    How about, instead of hatching a minilerk it, after it fully matured allows the player who created it to spawn in it, should he die(it should cost res and take long to grow(3min?))

    I'd like more dynamic maps like what this feature suggests, welding vents shut or some other map changing feature.
    Maybe have a gorge bile only open up the welded vent?

    I'd say no to lerk baby eggs or whatever the second idea was.

    Let the Khammander drop lipstick, so that lerks can change their sex to female.
    Then, let male lerks mate with females, who will drop eggs.

    As they hatch, the Khammander will deploy houses for lerk families.
    Housing benefits and free healthcare will be issued to households with a sub - 30k € combined income.

    About the weldable vents, i can remeber it from ns1. But i can't remember if it was possible to destory them. Was it possible?

    Personally I think the Weldable vents are a great idea. Destroyable from the weld side only. The other stuff I think are contentious and possibly balance affecting.

    The only argument is that you have mines you can use to stop access. I think they are a bit too expensive though ..15 res for something that wont give you the same res back or prevent access to more than 1 alien .. not very viable.

    i like that. Except for a gorge, he should be able to destroy from both sides i guess.

    I'm not sure if i want vents since they have a huge impact on gameplay.
    Anyway if so i would like that you have to buy the grill at the robotics factory. This way you can't run around the map and weld every vent.
    For the rest, when you walk with a grill you can't use a weapon. if you scroll you drop the grill to switch to a weapon.

    Weldable vents would be a very good idea imo, it'd help keep those nasty bilebombing vent gorges (I'm guilty of doing it too) from being able to do it as easily, as well as cutting down on some of the Alien Counter Attack routes.

    As for the Lerk Egg, I think it would be pretty interesting, but I also think it would not be used very often; and might add a sort of 'silly' feeling to the game. But of course, the Gorge is pretty 'silly', but players love it :p.
