Lost game in Steam

GarlucheGarluche Join Date: 2013-09-28 Member: 188497Members
Hello,

I tried some days ago to launch again NS2 after some months of inactivity.
But the game didn't start in Steam. I heard that my key has been revoked but I can't understand why UnknownWorlds revoked it !

As you can see, I have the game status to "Acheter" = "Buy" and I didn't play a lot yet to this game.

How can I get the game back to work ?

Best Regards,

Garluche

This is interesting. You should wait for an ns2 dev to answer this as some answers people may give can be wrong.

unless you broght your game key DIRECTLY from the steam page (www.steampowered.com), read this very carefully: http://unknownworlds.com/blog/beware-shady-key-resellers-and-discount-steam-keys/

Where did you buy your ns2 key. If you bought it at steam , contact steam support. Otherwise this may be the case: http://unknownworlds.com/blog/beware-shady-key-resellers-and-discount-steam-keys/

Edit. Damn it i was too slow BTW only trusted sellers are Steam and humblebundle.com

    Ok thanks a lot.

I bought the key through an online store.
I just wrote them another email :
    Ok.

So 2 months after my 1st mail, I still have no news.
Here is the answer from UnknownWorlds about why my key has been desactivated : http://unknownworlds.com/blog/beware-shady-key-resellers-and-discount-steam-keys/

I would like a full refund of my game or I'll start to explain this story through the web and lodge a complaint in my country against your business.

Please be aware that French authorities are really looking to this kind of complaints as there is a national debat on it right now.
Furthermore, please be assured that now complaints are really easy to make in my country through Internet without loosing time, and so I'll pursue the process for sure.

I'm really sorry to be so aggressive, but I'm now loosing my nerves as you can't reply to your customers in time.

I'll wait for their answer to give you the name of the company. But please be sure that I'll not end this story on such scam

i wish you luck, but those legal issues over the internet usually dont end well for the end user, the company answers only to their local laws, the bank allows them by default to make chargebacks, and if they are crooks (what seems obvious to me) they most likely created the company outside the country they target the sales.

i saw this many times already, talking about stuff sold over the internet.

The company is German. And right now, if you fill a claim regarding a german business it will be pursued.
That's why I hope not to have to go in there.

I was going to say you played on a free weekend and left it installed, but sure try and work out a dispute with this company

yeah... um... March 23 was when a free weekend started so unless you actually did buy ns2 from a german company (not sure how or from where you could) I'd say that you installed ns2 from steam for the free weekend and then left it installed despite never purchasing it.

No I played for more than one week end.
The link aruametello gave seems to explain the problem.

What's the name of the company? When did you buy it? How much did it cost?

Also, seeing as how you last played the game was on a free weekend, the problem clearly relates to it (Steam). Contact Steam support or UnkownWorlds, because from where I'm seeing it, the problem lies not in the company that sold the game.

Or perhaps the problem does lie in the company that sold the game...

I dont get why ppl even buy at those stores. You can get ns2 via steam for 5 €, which is a total fair prize.

Also just because a website has .de on its end doesnt mean the company has its legal seat there. Often those sites have it in China or similar countries, which makes pursueing legal issues almost impossible.

Make sure you guys head over to: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Hookups

They only post legitimate deals relating to steam, also they do 'mass buying' for major titles (voted by users in the group) which use steamworks, and you buy the game pre-order w/ steam CDKEY for a price much less than retail (aka you can get major titles $60 for $24 and etc) with the same pre-order content and everything, purchases are done through paypal via e-mail. 100% safe I've bought bioshock infinite AND metro last light from them

Any other deals they have are for other websites which sell legit cd-keys, like greenman gaming, and gamefly and other sites

    be wary always when buying!

    Ok, so still no news.

The company is GameHolds. It seems a good company but they don't even try to answer and they prefer to stay dead.
I'm sad I'll have to fight to get the game I bought back....

That company is not registered in gemany and is not trusted by WOT so i would never buy there. Semms like you wont get your money back. If you want to play NS2 i would suggest to buy 3 TF2 Keys at Steam Community Market and trade a NS2 copy at tf2op.com . By this way you are protected by Steam Trade and will get back your 3 keys if you got scamed.

I wasn't aware that it's not public, if you'd like an invite post your steam community profile link and I'll send you one
