[Linux] No Fullscreen, only Fullscreen Windowed

Hey all, quick question.

I have recently started to use Linux Mint 15 on my primary PC (still very new with linux as a whole)

When I load up NS2, I can only choose to run the game in windowed or windowed fullscreen, not regular Fullscreen.

Am I missing something? or is this just a linux thing?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, or has been asked before, I couldn't find any other threads about it.

I'm using a GeForce GTX 560 if that makes a difference.

    You aren't missing a thing. For some reason they haven't implemented a proper fullscreen mode in the Linux version (yet), which in itself is entirely possible on Linux and most other games do it.

    Beats me why they did that.

    I think its a opengl thing? i heard that opengl does not have "real" fullscreen and its in fact always fullscreen windowed. I'm not an expert in this, so if anybody knows more about opengl and fullscreen you can add to this thread :)
