    The BBC have set the bar over the years with some truely phenomenal documentaries, some with an entire series focused on the ocean and some with individual episodes on the sea.

    Does anyone have good copies? I've only ever streamed them so don't have them at hand to take screengrabs.

    Aww, I wanted to link that one! Brinicles are awesome, and I mean that in the traditional sense of the word - they truly inspire awe. They could make a pretty cool hazard for gameplay, too - like, if you accidentally bump up against a 'berg or an ice sheet, super space brinicles (because, let's be honest, we're not as slow as a time-lapse sea star) would start to creep out and threaten to envelop your sub like icy fingers of death.

    Great looking game. Sorry to see that the project was never finished. FUNDING UNSUCCESSFUL :/ Project ended on 03/29/2013. maybe UWE could buy some of there work. It was done in unity to. http://www.fathomadventure.com/about.html

    My OH makes nature docs for the Beeb (proud, boast mode on). Here's a few things water-related that he worked on.

    South Pacific. The sounds in this shot are immense, make sure your sound designer gets plenty of sea side research, UWE! Ocean sounds can be amazing! :)


    Blue Planet. This one shows that you could really go crazy with designs for fishies and other ocean animals. It really is a diverse, alien world down there!

    Hydrothermal vents. Most of the fish etc that have evolved around these areas have no colour, as the vents are at a depth where light from the sun isn't a thing.

    The diversity out there is just amazing. If UWE gets as creative as nature has been, I wonder if some people will scoff at how unbelievable the SN life is. They will only have to look to the real world to understand how odd things can get.

    The music in the video is beautiful too, very fitting to a subnautica type game as well as the video. A great piece of music to take audio cues from for ambient environmental music.
