Verify Game Cache

Sometimes when attempting to enter a server I get kicked during the load to the main menu of ns2 with the alert saying something about the game cache.
This is a something that appears quite often unfortunately when i attempt to enter a NS2 server. The only solution appears to be to go to the steam library and manually verify the game Cache.
Is there a permanent solution to this problem

    Strange, because this means that your system is activly changing ns2 files.

    so, think of your hard driver like a filing cabinet. Ns2 should be in the drawer 3 the hanging folder 2nd from the front. You go to open that up and get out the filee and its actually got a copy of the Manga Carta and some shredded bits of paper. Not the NS2 stuff you wanted.

    There are two possibilities. 1) someone is messing with your files. 2) something is horribly wrong with your file cabinet.

    The concerning thing about #2 is that the rest of your files could be shredded at any time. You should likely run SMART tests on your hard drive and make sure bad times are not happening. So you start there and make sure things aren't broken. If they aren't, you next have to find out who is moving your files around. That is a bit harder.

    @GalapagO
    I did not understand you. But @Confused aparently did.
    Note that both virusses and antivirus programs can misbehave and ruin files also.

    Id go check the drive itself first tbh.

    It's a reddit thing. Explain like I'm five. Indicates that your confused and it wasn't the original person's fault. Anyways thank you!
