Running The Game Around 5.9 Fps?!

<div class="IPBDescription">i really need help... it's unplayable</div> okay, i really need help tweaking NS because i usually run the game at 5.9 fps.

I have Ati RAGE128 (8mgs) and alstest drivers
Tried to run the game in Direct3d 640X480 - 800X600 - 1024X768 (starting the game with 90 fps and dropping to 5.9 fps during the game)

Opengl 640X480 - 800X600 (it's not in full screen, i can see my desktop lol)
opengl 1024X768 (laggy and running at 10 fps)
opengl 1600X1200 (can't even load the game lol)

I've tweaked multiple times the game, i really don't know what to do, i have a 733 mhz running with 256 SD Ram with my KDS Visual Sensation Screen 17 i.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

    8 megs? Was that a typo? Im suprised you get 5.9fps...

    Make sure your not running in 32 bit mode. Check the shortcut you use to start NS and remove the -32bpp or whatever the switch is.

    well, it's one of the worst card i ever got, i miss my old TNT 2 Ultra with 64 MB memory =\

    You should just get a new card. My Voodoo3 16mb could barely handle NS with its 4fps end-game/ns_caged.

    Is that 5.9 fps all the time, or is it only sometimes? I certainly hit speeds that slow and slower while a marine base is under siege and being bilebombed to death (In fact lots of marine structures are the main hinderance to my fps) but the rest of the time I achieve framerates of about 20-30 fps, which is reasonable for my comp and quite playable.

    Well, i can go up to 100 fps in the ready room easily
    but as soon as i enter a clan, i'm droping from 100 to 20 in one second, then 20 to 15 in 30 second and then, to 5.9 fps until the end of the game

    i would like to discuss an other problem of mine
    It's about voice quality, i don't know if it is because i only get weird american Farmers or whatever, but the quality is really crappy, i can hardly understand something but my name being told over and over again.
    I have a super Sound Blaster Live High quality, it's ain't my drivers or the card, i jsut don't know what is it lol
