Sadly I doubt it will run on your rig. 3.4Ghz needed and powerhouse GPU too. 8 GB ram etc.

I'm at 3.1 and I run the game quite decently, but yeah, unfortunately I doubt you'd be able to run it very well, if at all. I did update my graphics card maybe a year and a half ago specifically for running ns2 and it has been an investment I've gotten literally upwards of 1000 hrs of enjoyment from. Well worth it.

Maybe it's time for cpu upgrade for you :)

    Hi @louisb333‌

NS2 Minimum System Requirements (as per the Steam Store Page:
    OS:Windows 7 32/64-bit / Vista 32/64 / XP
    Processor:Core 2 Duo 2.6 ghz
    Memory:2 GB RAM
Graphics:DirectX 9 compatible video card with 1GB VRAM and support for Shader Model 3 (e.g. ATI X800, NVidia 8600 or better)
    DirectX®:9.0
    Hard Drive:5 GB HD space

Your CPU does not meet the Minimum spec, though you should be able to run it (albeit slowly). Your CPU is now almost 8 years old. In computer terms, that's getting pretty old. Might be time to buy a new PC/build a new one.

It will run on your cpu. It just won't be pleasant.

Ns2 does not need 8gb of ram. It is a 32bit application and can not use much what so ever.

With the 8GB I might have been wrong then but hell those minimum requirements will not run NS2 in a playable manner.

You say that I can run the game slowly, but will it be so slow that there is no point in buying it with my current computer?

I have played with 20fps before. It was doable I guess. I more played it because I may be obsessed with ns2. For someone who hasn't played the game I wouldn't recommend it. I literally could not see what I was trying to kill half the time.

You may be able to pick up a cheap copy of ns2 for $1. I guess it depends on how much you want to play the game. I love it, but I don't think most could get past how slow the game would run on your hardware.
