[Linux] can't input numbers on french config

Hello,
Playing on Ubuntu Linux on a french setup, with a french AZERTY keyboard. While I can rebind keys from QWERTY to AZERTY, it seems that I can't input numbers, either from the top row (which, on a french keyboard, are input in combination with the shift key but NS2 interprets the key for its gameplay) or the numpad. It's not really a problem when changing weapons as I use the mouse wheel but it's more problematic when playing the alien Gorge, as I can't select what to build with it's secondary attack...
Is it a know problem? Is there a fix?

You can maybe change the Linux settings to QWERTY?
