Already bought it, skins look awesome and finally something on the fade and onos

Combat is the most successful mod, therefore the one most likely to succeed in market. I have also heard that if combat is a success they will consider other mods for the same treatment.
yeah .. nice timing on the release of this dlc .. would have expected UWE to hold off on this so Combat could get the full attention ..

First thing, this DLC is a product of the CDT not UWE and its released in conjunction with the anniversary of NS. Second, if you dont like the DLC, dont buy it, nuff said. I however though think its awesome and also want to give Rant support.

I would LOVE to see the justification why this was a DLC and not a mod release in workshop and Rantology was given the payday as opposed to countless others who released their stuff into the workshop. Sickening .. as I said .. 'who you know' ..
Are we going to see a DLC for NS2+ ? Mendasp has contributed more than most, but he doesn't get a dlc?

If this was a mod released into the workshop, you'd only be able to use it on servers that had it enabled. You wouldn't be able to use it everywhere. I don't know if it would work with the customization menu, either. I know some servers used to use the pink hello kitty rifles, and everyone was forced to use it, whether they liked them or not. The appeal of the DLC is that they are your skins to use on any servers at any time and you can choose which ones you want to run.
The quality of Rantology's products is extremely high, not to mention the fact that she has done a ton of work for NS2 / the CDT over the last couple years that she wasn't paid for. You're right though, Mendasp has put a ton of time and effort into NS2. Maybe we can get some skins with buttholes on it for him, as I've heard those are his favorite. While 50% of the DLC goes to her, the other 50% of the Reaper DLC goes into a fund for the CDT to cover expenses of development. And honestly, I am completely confident that anyone who actually knows Rant and knows how much she's done and how awesome she is wouldn't even begin to complain about it.
If DLC goes over well, maybe we can take stuff off of the workshop. Looking at the skins on the workshop - there's some good ones. However, we'd need to ensure that they fit into the general feel of the game. As much as I love this rainbow skulk, I really don't feel that he'd fit into the NS2 universe. Like at all. Hahaha. Not to mention there is a quality expectation for something that is official. We need the art director from UWE to sign off on it.
And as much as you can say "put up a paypal donation link", it's not really a thing that many people will just give money away. And you know what the beautiful thing about these skins is? You don't need them. You really don't. It won't affect your experience at all to not have them, they're just cosmetics. Don't like the way they look or the way they're supporting the CDT? Don't buy them. Easy as that.
