[bugreport] Game runs in SlowMo / Gets out of sync

Hi,

I keep getting a really strange bug. The funny thing is that I got the same issue about 6 months ago and it was gone after a week or so. Restarting, reinstalling didnt help.

When I join a game it runs very slowly like slow-motion is activated. I know that there is an option to adjust the speed of the game serversided but this happens on every server. It seems like the game checks if my current position is correct every 2-3s which causes something that looks like a lag, but isnt. Its different because I am running slowly and I see everybody else running slowly also. But because the gamespeed on the server differs from mine the playerpositions the game calculates locally on my client just isnt correct.
Its impossible to play this way because its not like a lag that happens from time to time but the other players are never where they are supposed to be. Funny enough some people already thought that I cheat or something like this because something weired happened on their side when they tried to shoot me. I guess they saw me moving at normal speed but I didnt. I dont know ^^

I hope that someone can help me or give me a hint what could cause problems like this.

Thank you in advance,
daemon

Sounds like something wrong with your network setup.
Type "net_log 3" without the quotes in your console (~ key) when you get to the main menu... then play in game for less than 5 minutes in a round where you see this issue occurring.
Then please upload your tech support zip file here. (run techsupport.exe when NS2 is not running)

What is your ISP, Router, and modem? Are you wired or wireless etc?

Ok it turned out that my problem had nothing to do with ns2 but most certainly with my Motherboard. The usb-port is damaged. Funny that I can still use it for my external hdd but causes a lot of trouble while gaming. Thanks for you answer :)

Oh yea, i'd NEVER recommend using an external HD for intensive gaming ;)
