Hey guys,
Game is unplayable at the moment, within 10-15 seconds of loading the main menu I get booted back to desktop with that error.

Attached are dxdiag and the file error text.

If you need me to attach a dump file I can.

Troubleshooting;
* Delete local content of NS2 and redownloaded it all.
* Delete NS2 folders from AppData and Delete steam/userdata/<steamid>/4920/
* Verify the game cache via Steam
* Updated graphic card drivers to latest

What does the debug report say, if anything?
Also can you run NS2 with a launch parameter of -verbose 2
then upload your techsupport zip file after it failing again.

    Hey IronHorse, thanks for replying,
    Pardon my ignorance though..

How do I do either of those things you mentioned?
(launch parameter) and what is the techsupport zip file?

Techsupport.exe is located in your ns2 folder, run it when ns2 is not open.
Then upload the zip file it makes to here in this thread.

But only do this after you do the following:
To add launch parameters, right click NS2 in steam > properties > under General tab > click "Set launch options" > type -verbose 2
    Make NS2 crash like normal

I added the launch parameter as you requested.
Then I ran NS2. Clicked on Server Browser and after about 20 seconds I was back at Desktop with the Debug reporter (the error message).
Then I ran tech support.exe as you requested (attached).

I want to point out something that I noticed this time that I hadn't noticed previously. When it booted me back to my Desktop, Natural Selection 2 was still 'open' in the Taskbar, I clicked on it and it went back to the game/server browser screen but then within 10 seconds or so went back to Desktop again. Just wanted to add that for your information.

Ok this is just a guess of mine but it could be that ns2 is not starting because you play in 4k. Could you go to %appdata%/Natural Selection 2/ and open the system_options.xml with a notepad and change <y-resolution>1440</y-resolution> to <y-resolution>1080</y-resolution> and <x-resolution>2560</x-resolution> to <x-resolution>1920</x-resolution> save it and retry to open ns2?

    I changed the resolution to 1920 x1080.
As soon as I click on Server Browser, the game crashes.
Other parts of the menu or even if I am just sitting idle in the main menu it's fine. It is as soon as I go to the server browser.

Hmmm... symptomatically it's still similar to others who have tried with 4K monitors. They all crash within a few seconds.
I know Nvidia has a "downsample" option in their control panel, are you aware of anything like that for AMD?

edit: try running in a windowed mode this time, just for kicks. (ALT + Enter or change it in the xml file)
