FPS and GPU overheating

My GPU keeps going full throttle on this game and it's going to overheat. Is there a way to cap the fps? Typing "VSYNC" in the console did not help. Do I just need to update my drivers or something?

My rig was running hot when using 4xsupersampling....at 2x, it runs much cooler.
With FXAA and VSync, game is running relatively smooth.

You should be able to force VSync on for Subnautica in the Nvidia control panel (or ATI equivalent).

Yeah I tried forcing VSYNC but it didn't seem to work. Let me try again.

I have this same problem, I run a water cooling block on my graphics card, and it still gets up to 67 degrees with this alpha. Not good! lol

I guess it's just an issue with optimisation or no frame rate capping (as you mention) and I've seen this in other early access titles. I am sure it will get resolved as they progress with further graphics tweaks and optimisation work :)
