  The game just won't start at all, when i start it i have black screen with the big NS2 debug box. And sometimes when i exit steam still think ns2 is still running but it doesn't, even the process is closed.

  Lately we had a similair case to yours which was caused by the razer synapse stats tracking: http://forums.unknownworlds.com/discussion/comment/2235392/#Comment_2235392. If you use a razer mouse and have the same software installed you might have to disable the function as well.
