Cartoonish Main Character model?

Hey guys! I just registered on forum so please apologize me if this has been already mentioned.
But I am wondering why is our main character so out of ...shape? In my opinion an anatomically accurate main character model would match 100x better to this game...even if the game's style is not going totally for realistic look.
*sry for my awful English*

Eh, I think it looks fine. It fits the style, and it's not like you can really see it to closely examine and pick out the odd details in it anyways.

Eh I think it'd be cool if the character model looked more realistic but I admit that in the grand scheme of development it's not an important issue.

Well at least it isn't a pixel blockhead like Minecraft.

I think at this point in Development it is a non issue as it is pure aesthetics and nothing to do with mechanics, new content and graphics.

I feel allowing for Custom character creation is always the best. I want my scientist to have a bright green Mohawk. Might blend in better with the locals.

This is all so early that anything could happen. But I can almost guarantee they won't keep the current design at the very least they will refine it.
