Robots!!!

The name explains it all, and I'm sorry if I didn't see a discussion like this! What robots would be cool in the game? What functions could we use them for? I realize it may be difficult to program an AI for them, but I'd love to see them towards the end of development. Maybe a cave explorer robot? How about one that gathers specific materials? What do you think?

    There's two situation where I could find robot don't break immersion :

    - as a drone built by our own-pretty-and-not-accurate-hands

    - guarding/preserving some alien city in deep sea/undergroung sea cave

    An ROV to map caves would be cool. the caves in the grassy plateau biomes are tough to explore with the spike plants swiss cheesing you. you could send a drone and control it from the comfort of your smoth but it can't pick up items and if theres anything valuable you have to go get it yourself
