Global position system and motion detector.

I'd say that sometimes going around the map is a real pain, even with the compass on, could you make a GPS system craftable? like something that once it gets crafted looks like a micro satellite that once it's released blasts to orbit and then allows you to have a digital map of the biomes?

And...a motion detector would be great, mostly because so we wouldn't need to overworry about creatures sneaking up behind us...it would allow you to have a 360 scan of your proximity, almost like the one from Alien.

Give in the submarine links already a console with map that you can use but maybe that's still?

Naturally beautiful what who you everything must map that would bring it to Yes No a satellite in the all to shoot as long as something is what can shoot it down.

I mean the energy beam which shot off the ship or what do you mean?

i mean that any GPS system would need a satellite to work, so you could craft a micro satellite that could levitate in orbit and then scan the surface to generate a map of the biomes around the ship.

I'm not sure about satellite GPS, but cyclops could include sonar mapping of visited areas. You would need to upgrade the console in the control room first.

The sonar mapping would be a better idea, it would give a valid reason for a fog of war to be used on parts of the map you've not been to, it also means there will be a use for at least one of those two (currently) pointless consoles behind the pilots position in the Cyclops.

I would like sonar mapping so that I stop losing the mushroom forest :confounded: . I had decided that I wanted to make a base there, but I could not find it. I had to sift through some biome stuff on the wiki, and after a few misinformed attempts, I discovered that it was to the north-west. I had already been there once to get lithium for my cyclops, and a map would have been very handy to get back. A mapping system also just makes sense. A sophisticated ship like the cyclops ought to have some sort of sonar or similar system which could sense and record the terrain.

@sayerulz Keep a beacon or 2 in your cyclops for this kind situations. Just drop it out when you find something interesting.

It shouldn't be too easy to get the sonar mapping tool. It could first be just a flat map, but upgradable to a 3D-version. Also, the first version of the map couldn't tell your locations exactly, but it makes decent estimations instead.
