Can the foundation be made larger or a 3x3 grid?

It KILLS my damn OCD when I was checking out the the base building but couldn't put anything in the MIDDLE of the foundation.

Don't know if this will work, but:
Build a foundation, place your base structure, deconstruct the foundation, and place a new foundation where you want.

I know the feels bro. I hpe things get better when there are actual rooms to build so the corridors will have to serve only as corridors.

There not being any rooms (just corridors) is the only thing really stopping me from building bases right now. I've built a few since the patch was released, but they seem a little pointless until there are specialised rooms.

Not sure if foundations are actually going to remain in the game when all said and done, but if they do then I would also vote for 3 part placement and alignment on them...two sides and dead center.

I do hope they remain in because they help vary the look of the base even if they don't have very much or any functionality besides adding to structural integrity. I'm still hoping they might get used as (well) foundations for building a cyclops open sea docking platform on top of. Also, haven't tried it out yet, but now you can presumably lay one down and build a nice little solar panel farm on top them which would look cooler (imo) than a bunch of panels laid out on the sea floor around the base. Always cool to have options for different tastes in base building.

Don't worry, rooms are on the way. Just be patient.
