First off I really like the game, it has a great story and environment that keeps my interest focused on exploring.

My first play through I did it on survival mode. I went for a swim, where to? How about that big spaceship!
Its kind of far away and I heard some disturbing sounds of something hungry so I decided to head back.

I get frequent updates on the status of my crashed ship, it doesn't have long. If finally does explode but it seems like it took far too long to do so, I got so distracted by exploring that I missed the explosion, (I was under water).

Finally having enough resources to put an underwater sea-do together and decided to check out the ship now. But I run into radiation that wasn't there before and I am forced back. Sure enough I see there is a led lined suit I can craft that will combat the radiation.

After more exploring and exploding ambush fish I have nicknamed pom-pom I have enough resources to craft my suit and finally get to the ship. I head out and hear more of what I assume is a giant man eating fish. Yep sure is, he just ate me!

I head out again this time around the back side of the ship hoping to avoid the mammoth. It works but the back side is strangely barren? I chalk it up to early access and keep going. I find a ramp into the ship and I am attacked by spiders resembling Tron grid bugs. They are easy enough to avoid as I can for the most part just run past them. I open a few of the crates along the way and find some loot as well as a white X described as an unknown signal. Finally I get to the engine room and find a console with a power upgrade in it, I haven't built the Cyclops yet so I keep it and find out what its for later. I head out through a hole in the floor and sprint back to my pod with my loot.

Now I decide to check out what I can build, I had seen the big sub in screen shots so I work on getting the materials needed to build a constructor. After a large search for silver and coming up empty handed I check out some other tools I can craft. I discover the hand builder and craft a small base on the sea floor closer to the resources I need. The lockers are a god send and the extra space really helps on my quest for more stuff. It does seem odd that I need glass for a locker?

At this point I have enough to build my Cyclopes and I finally get one. Drives kind of slow, not much help there, but I could use it as a mobile base. Can I build lockers in it? Yep, sure can, so I proceed to move in.

Now at this point, after building my sub named "Doom Bringer" I start to wander what else there is to do so I start to look in the forums. I see you can build a mini sub but you have to find the parts for it to put in an analyzer to discover how to build it.

Wait the super sub base comes unlocked but I have to "Discover" how to build the much simpler and cheaper mini sub? This is really backwards to me. Seamoth should be the one that is unlocked and the Cyclopes is the one you have to analyze to get. Any how I get what I need and build it, also it docks with the larger one so big bonus there.

Now again I am looking for a new goal. I pull out the signal source and it says it leads to a cave opening. I find it do some exploring and leave. Not really much point in it just exploring. So back to the forums again looking for more content. I see there is an island to explore, sounds fun so I find that and go for a walk about. It's interesting because its a surface environment so I play around for a bit there and get board and leave.

To sum up. It was a lot of fun but was really short for the main gameplay.

The ship takes far too long to explode. So long that I started exploring and playing long before it blew and missed it all together. Also I would add the radiation zone at the start so I instantly know not to go that direction at the start.

The large ship makes an excellent visual goal that players want to go to, but it should lead you to other things to keep the game going. I felt that after I explored the ship that the game was pretty much done. I found a few signal sources but they only lead me to empty caves and deserted island. What happened? Why did it crash? where are the other pods/survivors? These are the quests that exploring the ship should lead you too.

I built the Cyclopes before the Seamoth. Only because they Cyclopes came unlocked and the Seamoth was kind of hidden in the analyzer mini game. If they were switched it would make much more sense. Also some better tool tips on what you need to analyze the parts you find and how stacking them works. I collected a lot of them and had a useless huge pile afterwords!

Silver seemed to be strangely rare while ever other resource I had lockers full of. I don't know If I just wasn't searching the right places but maybe some feedback on where to find elements would be helpful.

Silver is quite common the creepvine areas (should find it at about 80m deep). The ship blowing up is a randomised event, ive had it happen in one of my games within the first few minutes... sometimes it can take a bit longer.

Ideally when you visit the Aurora, you should take the cyclops or the seamoth sub (thats a really long swim otherwise!)

The game is early access though and it's neat that people try to do things differently (I've only recently been fully utilising pipes to get down into the deeper caves before I get the seamoth!
