They are probably something that is going to be implemented sooner or later. There is probably going to be one for each biome too.

They're gonna be used for research so you can gain stuff or you could grow them yourself. It's totally up to you though the analyzer isn't implemented yet.

Yeah. I've been looking to see if anybody else has seen these. Mine looks green and yellow in my inventory and can't be placed in a large aquarium.

just drop it with a right click in, Aquarium's inventory is for seeds

By placed I meant dropped. Sorry about that. Anyways, it just gives me the "you can't drop items here" message.
