Given that players were told for this test to not buy SN just to play on OSX, I think it is more likely that many didn't originally intend to play Subnautica on their (separate) Mac. If this is even true for half of the OSX users, then you drop to the 25% rate comparable to Windows players. So, the conclusion that "a very large portion of the customers do not check minimum requirements" is a stretch at best.

Indeed, these people didn't buy the game intending to play it on their Macs; most of what you're seeing here is PC gamers testing the game out on their Apple laptops because you invited them to. These figures would be much better for people whose primary machine is a Mac, which includes ~zero of the people in this test (since they all bought the game before there was a Mac version).

I have to agree with Instrumentality; I purchased this on Steam in hopes of one day getting a Windows Box to play it on, perhaps a few years in the future when I can actually justify purchasing a Windows machine. But it didn't occur to me until today, at random, to see if a Macintosh version might be forthcoming. I found this website by using Google and my timing was fortuitous.

I'm not certain my hardware configuration will be able to RUN it, as I'm running an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB from 2008, but I'm going to run a benchmark test and see what happens.

I lost track of my original point though: most Macintosh Users will look the game up on Steam, see that there is no Macintosh version listed, nor minimum system requirements for Macintosh Configurations. So they won't buy the game in the first place.

Okay, good news: this game runs REALLY well on my Mac. Bad news: my Mac is a 2008 MacPro with dual quad-core processors, 10 GB RAM, four bootable internal hard drives, and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 graphics card. It is a powerhouse, and may not be indicative of, say, the configuration of an iMac, and certainly not a laptop. This particular drive is running 10.9.5, but I was thinking of seeing if the game will run on 10.6.8.
