An idea to help with long term survival

The main thing that bugs me about survival now is limited food, I think it would be good to consider a addon to help people survive longterm

1. An Aquarium that would allow you to breed fish and make a sustainable food source, the fish would be bred via creepvine meal in which kelp could be grown in a farm (both are an attachment to a base (rather large ones at that) ) the aquarium would take power the farm would not, However the farm would act much like solar panels in that the deeper you go the slower it takes for it to produce (surface a few days, 300+ week) this would deacrease the strain on hunting but still make it required

2. A distillery that would slowly make water that could be removed from its internal buffer. Power consumption would be affected by depth. speed would be affected by biome

While there IS an aquarium on experimental build its designed more for fun than function even once its completed. At the moment iv not seen any signs of long term functionality for survival builds other than scavenging further and further out to see. Granted there are a LOT of things to eat in some areas, If your willing to brave the deep sea or caves its pretty hard to run out of food at the moment.

I would like to see respawning mechanics for food at the very least, Prior to swapping to experimental I had pretty much turned the shallows into a dead zone.

Honestly they just need to respawn everything after a certain period and it would be fine. Don't think of it as new limestone forming, think of it as more being exposed by weathering. But the fish come back magically. With magic.

I imagine it's probably a safe bet they've got this kind of stuff handled - renewable food and water, a better method of reliably gathering resources - so I'd say don't worry about it.

Nah, the fish would just be migrating in from their breeding grounds.

One solution to food animals spawning in could be that the schools of fish which are currently in game could spawn a creature at regular intervals. Appropriate to the biome and and indicated by the type of school, they could produce an edible or useful entity at every 20-30 hrs ingame time. Perhaps there could also be a device to attract schools to a given location, allowing for a fish farm. Different baits or components could be loaded into it to attract different species.
