Argh!

<div class="IPBDescription">you may need to lock this threat :)</div> Alright, 1.04c and 1.04d are the WORST pathches to ever grace the servers I play on.

-They bumped the grenade launcher back down to the original damage, making it completely useless as an offensive weapon AGAIN.

-Aliens spawn faster, which makes it near impossible to take a hive early game

-The siege guns sometimes just decide NOT TO FIRE when they're in complete line of site

-There's a new resource bug for aliens where a new round starts and all the old resources carried over

-I pour clip after clip after clip along with a buddy next to me into a fade, switch to pistol, and the fade still manages to kill both of us and crawl back to his stupid defense chamber. This was with level 2 weapon upgrades and level 2 armor upgrades by the way. Normally this doesn't upset me, but this stupid fade was walking in a straight line and I kept strafing around him and I know I was getting something like 90% accuracy with my LMG. The fade would NOT die.

I also have another question. Carapace says it "abosrbs" 20% more damage, but all it does it add 20 hit points to your armor... What's the deal? Either way, skulks with carapace seem to take 30-40 lmg rounds nowadays.

In an effort to see if it was just me sucking, or if I really was a curse to whatever team I joined - I decided to start tracking my wins/losses. Here is how I did over the past 4 days and counting.

Total Rounds Played: 13

Aliens Losses: 2
Marine Losses: 8

Alien Wins: 1
Marine Wins: 2

As you can see, I have been beaten up and down, side to side, and in between from map to map, server to server. Is anyone else experiencing such a large amount of lossage? I know that's not a word, but it's really bugging me cause no matter what team I join, I always seem to end up losing. I never go comm or gorge, and I listen to other people, follow orders, I always lose! Oh yeah, I've decided I hate fades so much, I will no longer ever morph into one. Once fades are changed into a mid-game alien and not an end-game, I will support them once again. Argh... Just some mindless venting.

    Fades are pretty much immune to LMGs. We've had 7 marines pumping 1 fade full and he still killed everyone and walked back for full health.

    The teams/classes are very balanced...








    if you're playing an organized clan match or something like that...if you are just playing on an online server with idiots on your team as a marine you're so shafted. I would highly suggest that the dev's of this mod actually play in just regular online public servers. I'm not saying that to be a sarcastic ****, but i can play an entire day and see marines win once or twice. Either that, or i'd love to know the servers that the dev's play in <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Then you had a pretty darn n00bish team!! I guess everyone here agree in that.. 7 marines vs 1 fade.. lol!

    You are all just whiners, you should try to play the games with decent teammates and you will see that nothing is inbalanced at all!

    I haven't had any problems as a marine in 1.04c or d... I've only played a few rounds in d, but I've played 1.04c quite a bit, lots of marine wins when I played.     What the ****. I can take otu a fade without upgrades. If I got upgrades they dropeven faster. God just learn how to aim.

    ok I'm done. I think I've seen 5 marines getting owned by one skulk before. It would of ben funier if I wasn't one of them...

    Here's how it happens:-
    Your in a corridor, heavily deffending your TF when everyone sees a skulk comming and ALL the marines try to be the one that kills him. They all charge forward shouldering each other out the way getting in lof and trying to be the one that takes the last shot, all on full auto. Except for me, I was standing at the corner, watching the show trying to get a clear line of fire whilst sighing at the display of complete ineptitude. The skulk charges right through the middle of them and around them. The marines panic and start to run away - towards me - as their lmg's are now empty and they all need to reload. Skulk does maybe two circuits and kills nearly all of them by the time I have a clear shot it's because all my team are belong to death. The skulk is on me and I'm in the corner...

    On the bright side, on Wednesday I cleared a turret and 5 marines out of their base - solo as skulk, then the TF and then the IP. The comm got out and killed me but I got him on the next run before the IP was finished - game over. This was 10minutes into the game! I also saw a friend of mine push back 4 fades with a lmg charge on his tod. He died but did some damage and gave the team time to finish the phase gate and reload the hmg's.

    What a surprise, a fade discussion again.

    Yes, it is hard (not impossible) for a lmg/la marine (0 rp spawn) to kill a fade.
    Yes, it is hard (not impossible) for a skulk (0 rp spawn) to kill a hmg/ha marine.

    Guess what? It is meant to be this way. If you want to kill a fade, FIRST invest as much rp for your spawn as he did and THEN come back and complain that you suck to much to kill something even with 680 hp (ha) and a dmg output of 276 dmg/sec (hmg).

    He whines about 5 different aspects of 1.04x, complaining that they are all unfair against marines.

    Then he displays his statistics, which show marines winning 10 out of 13 games.

    Alien losses = marine win
    Marine win = marine win

    so 2 + 2 = 4
    total rounds played 13
    so marines won 4/13 while aliens won 9/13.

    Quite frankly this is not a very good statistical sample to base ANYTHING on as there's only 13 games if just 2 games had gone another way it'd be as close to equal as is possible.

    And the factors such as:
    1) having poor players on your team.

    are likley make this happen.

    What I'd like to see is some thing in NS where it records the total marine/alien wins on EVERY sever with a game with more than 7 players.

    But still, 4/13 isn't bad, and depending on the server size this is no better or worse than any previous version of NS.

    His main complaint seems to be that 'whatever team he is one, loses'.

    And that issue, of course, is not something that a patch really addresses, unless he believes that NS is made solely for his benefit.

    Rather than doing a win/loss calculator in NS I think it would be more of a job for an adminmod pluggin or HLStats, any takers? The log file shows who won at the end and how many players on each side so it wouldn't be that hard to write a script.
