Description - Every time I load a new game, the color of my Seamoth's name changes back to white. Despite changing the name color prior to loading the game.

I tried this out and it works for me...

Not sure what to tell you. Can you get me a copy of your log when the color change fails?

Any one else having the issue?

At the moment it's simply when I reload a save. I leave the name Blue for instance, quit game. Reload the save and the name is white again. Pretty minor thing. Can a log record that just from a log in? =o

So I tried black, got black on load. It probably means you did something funky and I just didn't do exactly the right thing.

I am mostly hoping to see an error like "CANT LAOD SEAMOTH TEXT COLOR, USING WHITE" and then I can be like "Something appears to be wrong with your save." For now that makes it less of a big deal. Right now saves are going to break due to stuff like feature changes and the like, but if there is something that breaks the cyclops colors it would be good to find it before it causes chaos later

This problem affects Seamoths docked when saving (inside Cyclops or Moonpool).
If outside, in water, colors are correctly displayed after loading.

I could reproduce it in Freedom mode, changeset 22410:
    • create a working moonpool with energy and a configuration console
    • spawn a seamoth
    • dock it to the moonpool
    • change the text color (preferably some strong color)
    • save, exit to desktop and reload
The text will be displayed in the default color, despite the changed (correct) color being displayed in the configuration console.

Same if the Seamoth is docked inside the Cyclops when saving.

    I hope this helps...

i can't place the console in the moonpool, even with a seamoth in there and I dunno why, but the console is still red, is there a special place in the moonpool for the console?

the console can be placed at the same positions where corridors may enter the Moonpool - the flat walls. It's a bit hard to find the correct position because only the top of the console appears in the 'preview' and if you are not far enough you wont see it.

I think you'll be able to in the upcoming update, though if you use the experimental mode you may be able to do it now.

just to complete: the color being reset also happens if the Seamoth is docked to the Cyclops

How do I play experimental mode?

    1. Open your Steam software.
    2. Right click on Subnautica in your list of installed games and select properties.
    3. Go to the Beta tab
    4. From the drop down menu choose experimental. Steam should then update your game to the latest experimental version.

Just be aware that the experimental versions are just that; occasionally something may happen that may break the game.
