It seems that the new exiting-the-Seamoth animation is a bit buggy. This isn't the first time that I've fallen through the moonpool, but, afraid to lose my progress, this time I saved it, thinking I would respawn in my base. I... 
did not. Now my main save file loads with me falling endlessly through the map, like so:
