Alternative to hidden craft items

I'd like to see all craftable items, regardless of if I have the resources to build them. However, I completely understand UWE's desire to not overwhelm new players.
To this end, I propose:
1. Initially provide only a "basic" fabricator - it will act as the current fabricator does, by limiting the player's view of craftable items to only "discovered" ones. It would also only allow a subset of the entire set of "fabricate-able" items.
2. Allow the player to upgrade the fabricator - this would show all craftable items (regardless of having the resources to build them)
- The "upgrade fabricator" ability could be a craftable option on the fabricator, similar to the other items. It could require a set of most of the other craftable items, thereby ensuring that new players fully understand the "basic" craft items before being introduced to the rest.
