Railways!

What do you think of a railcar? You would first create two docks on different bases, and then create the railcar. Then, you drive it to the first dock, dock it, then drive to the second. This would create a pathway, which you would fill in with titanium and the builder. You could put fabricators in it, it would be super fast, always follow the same path, and be powered directly by the bases!

An undersea tram of some kind? That could be interesting, certainly.

Look at Bioshock if you really want underwater trains, Its a really great Idea

This could be an interesting novelty, but pathing might be an issue, and with subs already being a good form of travel, I'm not sure of the actual usefulness of them.

I agree. The Seamoth is already a good way to get around, and the trains would be redundant. Still a cool idea, though.

The trains might be useful if you always want it to travel along a set path, and it would probably be much faster and roomier then the seamoth, with super scenic views!

Nice idea, but the tracks would disrupt the terrain too much. Maybe a 'train' that doesn't travel on tracks per se, but a self driving submarine that can go between locations? I think the problem is that you'd have to go to the location and create a station, and at that point, you may as well just get what you're looking for a scoot. At this point in the game, I don't think there is a point or a use.

Choo choo ... welcome Subnautica Tycoon ... :o

Glasstube shuttles (horizontal/vertical) would be my favorite travel system. But looking at the roadmap I guess we can be happy to get a long range warp transmitter. Because this will be implementable in only a short time. The most fascinating glass tube shuttle system would need far more extra artwork, animations and extra programming. Although the existing glass tubes might get used.

Hey, I just found an extra idea for a seamoth module: The hovercraft module - Once the seamoth reaches 0m the seamoth starts to hover above the waves and speeds up to jet travel, burning massive energy in no time.
