Benthic animals

A benthic animal is basically an animal that lives on the sea floor, such as corals, starfish, seashells, sea squirts and so on. I feel that Subnautica does not yet have have enough species of benthic animals. So this discussion is made for people to post their ideas for new benthic animals. Please remember, though, that one of Subnautica's bases is to have weird, whacky, almost unnatural organisms, so please don't make your ideas too realistic. Have fun!

Now, here's my first idea. Take a look at this vid :

I want these sort of sponges, but that constantly "smoke" out a liquid substance that lights up at night.

What do you think?

I would like to see something like a Siphonophore (It's not exactly benthic but I thought I'd add it anyway).

Similarly to corals they are composed of many individuals. But each individual is so specialized that they integrate with each other, forming a super-organism in order to survive. I'd love to see something along these lines in Subnautica in the deepest reaches of the ocean, perhaps scaled up a bit and capable of inflicting a sting that slows and/or poisons the player. Otherwise it would be completely passive and catch whatever passes by.

The only other idea I can think of right now would be some sort of giant polyp living partially burrowed beneath the sand that draws in food via long tentacles.

Oh wow that looks amazing we need this in dark areas and could farm it and have it outside our bases!

What about the lost river? It looks like it's gonna be dark, and it'll also explain why there is a liquid substance on the bottom.

That liquid stuff could just be water with a different salinity/density/whatever it is.

OK, I've changed my mind. How about the grand reef?

It would be cool to see a large version of this just kind of floating around all bioluminescent in the deep. Nice suggestion!
