power cables

in my opinion i think it would be cool to see the option to lay down power cables to connect power generators to your base instead of the default power transmitters

well maybe the cables could have glow in the dark spots or LED lights along the length of the cable

Think about the time its in wires are a little old wireless is a little better but I do think they should change the transmitters a little to make them look better and not have a line showing there connections all the time sense transmitting energy is invisible it would only show up when you hover your cursor over it or center of the screen.

I'm sure they are going to revisit them at some point, but I do hope that it either becomes a tiny transmitter antenna as PlasmaStruck suggested or stretches a wire between little pylons.

Did you forget Subnautica is based on the future?! WHY are there going to be power cables??

I actually love the power transmitter beams - and just means that's a technology sorted out when everything swaps power optically. Even more - maybe sometime when there is more of a story line, we can happen across beams wandering along the seafloor to direct us to something. Or a broken network where something interesting happens when we restore power. I've suggested elsewhere that the vehicles should reach out (power beam) to the base or generators to tap power when near by. So a deep water cyclops service point could just be a couple thermal generators and a power transmitter. (and a beacon - I get so lost!)

You are right. I like the transmitters too. They got a better "future technology" vibe then a traditional Power cable. Maybe they get a new model someday but the basic idea of them is great.

Your idea that the transmitters should be able to transmit to vehicles too is great. Really like that one. Would be so cool to have a kind of deep ocean power station where you can pull up to refill energy. Since we got Solar upgrade for the Seamoth and 1200 Energy in the Cyclops we do not need it that much but still it would be really cool to refill energy that way and totally in line with the way we transfer energy across the ocean ingame anyway so thumbs up for your idea.
