quartz machine!

I am in great need of quartz to build my base and the quartz on sea beds is always not enough, besides my base is always full of power. I have no way to use them except the spot light (btw it consumes so much power).
I think it will be a good idea to have a machine synthesis quartz from rocks/sand you gather.

I mean you could extract quartz from the see bed, since quartz is a quite common material in sand. But i assume it would be a slow process, since you have to filter out all the excess stuff you don't want.
But i'm not oppose to the idea, since we do need more machines. My base never has any power issues and it's just being powered by the sun and a lone bioreactor. Also would be nice to have a better way of obtain quatz. Because glass is one of those things you don't need but you NEED.

And if it's in the sand, it's in the water, so a variant of the water filtration machine would work for a quartz compression machine.

It depends a little on what the plans are for renewal of resources, but I am principally in favor of this idea. Titanium and quartz are fundamental to the base building part of the gameplay, so the game should avoid running into (significant) shortages with those materials. Difficult ingredients and high energy consumption aren't an objection either, because right now my games are so desperate for quartz that the devs could put a treadmill in the game to power a quartz generator and I'd spent an hour of gameplay just running to earn my windows and computer chips.

I think a fair scan moment would be in the abandoned base in the Jelly Shroom Caves. Right now, there's nothing to gain there that can't be gained elsewhere and what can be gained is far less than what's available at the FI abandoned base (the observatory even is plain unscannable in the JSC abandoned base). With the requirements for the Seamoth and either a trip to the Aurora or a Moon Pool & Seamoth Modification Station combo, I'd say that's a good point to get access to renewable quartz.

(Speaking of titanium, do the devs ever up the occurence of scrap metal? Because the recent updates have added a whole lot more uses for titanium and I'd hate for it to be limited too.)
