Instadeath in Kelp Forest Cave

I went into the Kelp forest cave past the thermal vent and there were 2 crash plants. no crashes came at me but i suddenly got hit screen went green and dead leaving my seamoth there. Return to retrieve it and bring my seamoth in at full health and boom seamoth destroyed and green screen again and dead. What is doing this? the green screen is similar to when you go into the gasopods gas, but they arent in the caves. Im at a loss for what happened.

Sounds like drooping stingers. Would those purple pests be anywhere near you when you die?

nope i was in wide open area nothing drooping around, but i do know what you are talking about. unless they simply werent showing up which could be a bug

Hi wxSgt, there are some stings much smaller than the normal size but they still hurt the same. They might be the cause of instadeath.

I was killed by some that I didn't see. I was avoiding the ones I could see. Maybe it was the same cave?

For my first couple of playthroughs I started avoiding caves entirely. 3 out of the 4 times I died, as well as my only loss of a seamoth, were due to stingers (or triple crashes)!
