Tech support - game crash when launch

Hello,
I just did a fresh install of NS2, I already verified the local game files through steam. When I launch the game, I get a low resolution screen that is black with a blue square box in the bottom right, and when I check task manager in windows it informs me that the program is not responding. What should I do to fix this? I have attached my tech support zip file. Thanks.

I suggest to remove any subscribed mods from Steam but I don't know if that causes the crash.
Then delete the "Workshop" folder found in your hidden %appdata%/Natural selection 2/ folder
