  How come I've never seen that before? I've been all over the sketchfab models and this is the first time I see this? WTF?
  
  But back on-topic, this has actually been my usual idea to update the seabase hatches. Simply building one on the sides or on the celing will flood a base in real life. Putting one on the floor will not, even if it's left open all the time. It's basically like the moon pool, but with a much smaller entrance/exit. Adding a ladder to that hatch that can be folded will make it look even better.

  Yes for that ability to rotate. I know having them fold up will remove most of the problems with blocked passages, but the problem with clicking the right ladder when two are stacked will still be an issue...

  That is unless the ladders will remain retracted

  As stated awhile back by a Dev the current Ladder model is designed to be retractable, they just didnt get to implement it yet. I am among those that can't wait for it to become real indeed
