Hopefully there will be storms and such on the surface. Day night is great but surface needs to be a bit more alive. Imagine surfacing during a hurricane :D

Was thinking about this last night, actually. Specifically the storms.

What I'd be interested in seeing is a module segment that could capture the energy discharge from lightning strikes, instantly filling (or adding a ridiculous amount) of power into the base. Would have to be built within 20m of the surface, though, I'd imagine.

Maybe wind turbines that stretch above the surface of the water and collect energy that way (day or night), but give increased output during heavy-wind conditions.

Surface hurricanes could, likewise, risk damaging modules near the surface (if they don't have any reinforcement), but could also deposit new scrap and quartz. Give players a reason to build deeper into the ocean.

Also, I'm glad to see a lotta new people joining the forums. Thought I'd be the only one joining an already-established community.

I think it would be cool if there was a rare occurrence of whirlpools, and also if every could of days or weeks there was a couple day long storm, since the planet being composed of mostly water, the water cycle would be far more extended compared to earths

Considering how close the developers are to their release deadline I doubt we'll see any type of weather that changes terrain or damages bases. But I do hope we get rain, light rain, heavy rain, whatever. Oh yeah, and because of the rain clouds overhead, have the solar panels take in less energy.

Yeah that's an awesome idea, you'd think it would rain a lot!
