Idea for a new landscape

I'm on holiday in Iceland right now, and I saw something which I think would look really good in the game: a field of basalt columns.

These are normally created by volcanic activity, so they probably should be placed in the lava biome or in one of the entrances, or even in a different new biome. What d'ya think? Do they look cool enough to make it into the game?

I was thinking this game could maybe use better varied terrain on the island, maybe throw this in, add a hotspring with it, or these shapes lining up the mountain edge or something

How about down-facing versions of these as the inactive lava zone roof? Right now it's just stone.

This has already been done somewhat in the game called "The Solus Project".

Beautiful, a similar formation exists in Scotland (saw that in Uncharted 4).

go to Norway, Iceland, or Greenland. these exist there, they are called the Giant's Steps

@Sigmalx The most famous one is actually in Ireland. It's called the Giant's Causeway.

I do like this texture and think it would be natural near thermal areas.

Also would like to see some Icy areas as well. Seeing those giant saltburgs in game got me thinking:
