I'm just finding limestone in the red seweed areas. Where's the sandstone now?

I find my silver mostly in the kelp forests.

yeah I noticed this as well, very annoying bug or maybe a mistake on the devs part by removing sandstone from grassy plateau's. I mean seriously yes there are those large nodes of resources now but you need the prawn suit to get at those. Having next to no silver in the form of sandstone is a MAJOR oversight in the common area it's suppose to be found in.

I just got my prawn suit and still have stockpile of ~15 silver right now without specifically looking for it. Personally I never got how people could farm in the grassy plateaus. I just can't spot the nodes there.

They've relocated or deleted much of the sandstones out of the red weeds. Silver is now much rarer for beginners and you need to search the Kelp forest too now.

This changes as soon as you have the Prawn suit with the drill arm and can directly drill silver veins. Until then you have to search hard if you don't know all the traditional silver spots still in the game.

The kelp forest cave systems are full of silver now especially near the thermal vent. :)

I have noticed that the sandstone deposits where you find silver are now on the cliff faces within the red seaweed areas.

I'm still finding loads of silver, all over the place. Safe shallows and kelp forest mainly.

Save Shallows caves, volcanic vents and Kelp Forest caves. The usual places, really.

Kelp forests now has a lot of sandstone. There are a lot of mini cavern systems underneath kelp forests.

The volcanic vent in the safe shallows is excellent for sandstone when you're just starting out.

I haven't gotten that far yet, but I did always notice that Sandstone really only seemed to occur in about half to one-third of one out of the two Grassy Plateau areas. The entire eastern one never had a single Sandstone, and the northern half or more of the western one seemed to be full of Limestone as well. If they expanded that to the whole area, SCREW THAT.

It's bad enough to have to manage Stalkers, especially early game when they come in packs of 4 or more. But the fact that the Kelp Forest caves are among the most dangerous in the game, with Crash, Drooping Stingers, Bleeders, the occasional Biter, and Mesmers on top of the usual drowning worries? Come ON. And this is without any curious stalkers wondering if you have any fish on you. You can't even do anything about Drooping Stingers pre-Propulsion Cannon. Get within 5 meters of them and you risk unstoppable death from the all-too-common damage bug (where the continuing damage never stops and isn't halted by using a medkit, so you are guaranteed to die eventually). At least get their hitboxes right if they're going to be so bloody deadly.

Kelp Forest caves need a lot of balance work if we're supposed to go there for silver in perpetuity, rather than as the occasional opportunistic "raid". As bad as the Sandshark / Biter mosh pit in the Plateaus was, those caves can be worse.

A lot of the kelp forest caves do not have dangerous lifeforms in them. Yes there are some that do, but there's plenty that don't. They're also shallower, meaning it's easier to reach them without the seamoth if you're looking for silver early. The seafloor in the grassy plateau is typically around 100m, which is pretty deep to dive with just fins and still have time to look for nodes and reach the surface again. Even with the seaglide, I've found my time pretty limited.

So, I only played for like an hour tonight, just to see how the PRAWN update was (I got like 50+ hours in the game already). Maybe its just me, but I feel like the number of limestone deposits has been shot to hell. I can't find hardly any in the Safe Shallows or the Kelp Forests or the Grassy Plateau. Even the enormous coral tubes which use to have TONS of basic limestone deposits in them are bare now. I was thinking maybe this was a spawn bug with my game, because I also don't seem to have any Stalkers spawning in the Kelp Forests. But, I've been out of touch with development here and I wasn't sure if the devs decided to drastically cut resources at some point in the starting areas to force players to go out and explore. Can anyone comment on this? I'm fine with a drop in resource availability, but not to the point where it seriously impedes progress. I can't even get enough stuff to build my Seaglide to increase my mobility and therefore make all my further progress easier.

I still find limestone in safe shallows, kelp forest and grassy plateaus. They are not so many anymore but on places like the big coral tube I still find plenty of them. I don't have a problem with the ressources in the game, I also still collect very much silver in the kelp forest.. :o

Once you have the drill arm for the PRAWN, you will never again have any shortage of resources again. Except titanium maybe, not much good for drilling. Though combing the shallows around the Aurora yielded me 20 Titanium Bars worth of scrap needed for the depth upgrades of all my vehicles.
