What's a quick fix to when life and materials don't spawn?

I usually hard reset my xbox.
Big hassle it is.

    Use the Xbox dashboard to leave your save instead of the in game menu. This was improved in the stability update but may help. Press Xbox, menu/start, quit game and then re-launch the game.
