i keep getting this error since the last patch
try to join a server, greeted with the message "invalid data"
verifying integrity of game cache has done nothing
some superficial googling suggests this isn't a problem people have really experienced since 2013/2014
pls gief help

Also, as a Linux admin writing this from work, I think typing out a folder name with blanks just gave me cancer.
You have to realize: the devs just hate Linux, or Unix as a whole.
Oh, and to be helpful: @colonoscopy_odyssey : check your logfile under %appdata%\Roaming\Natural Selection 2
There is probably an entry for a corrupt file (something like "Couldn't load uglyMarineFace.ddl"). Find that file in the game folder, delete it, then do the 'verify game cache' again.
