There is a watermellon on Floating Island.. And you can only eat it or plant in 1:1 ratio. There is no watermellon seeds.
Could you add watermellon cultivation? It is a good water source especially for Cyclops runs if you don't like stillsuit reprocessed water.

They don't even need to be planted - you can drop one and knife it to get the seeds. You can't drop inside the base, so you have to go outside, but the melon doesn't need to be in a planter to harvest the seeds.
Why isn't it a thread? Until today I didn't know you could harvest seeds from watermelons, since it's not intuitive to slash them like brain coral.
The vast majority of plants give seeds when you slash them.
Yes. But plants that can't be picked up or interacted with (Grub Basket, Jaffa Cups, Ming Plants) typically give seeds when you slash them, while food-bearing plants (Lantern Fruit, Chinese Potato) don't give seeds this way; you just replant an edible food item. It just seems odd to me that Marblemelons go against this logic, being the only edible food item you have to slash to get its seeds.

Oh thanks!

That's true - but not necessarily intuitive.
