Flashbangs could be made from magnesium and crashpowder and temporarily stun any fauna caught in its radius. It could have a nice looking effect, but make the screen white for a few seconds if you are in its radius.
Pepper spray could be made from acidmushrooms diluted in water and sprayed at hostile fauna to get them to leave.
The lasercutter could be modified (lowered wattage) to cause temporary blindness.
Note the word "temporary" and the fact that I did not use the "w" word

I feel you could have fleshed out these ideas better.
Like... flash charges for the subs, it blanks out the window for an instant with a special electrically-triggered tint, while overloading the lights into a massive pulse that disorients fauna, the darker the environment, the more it dazes them. Perhaps a new module, perhaps just a keybind and having the charges in a storage module on the sub? Could work for all three subs. Definitely provokes Crabsquid EMP response...
flash torpedoes and thrown grenades. Pepper spray actually could be in capsules fired from some type of pneumatic launcher. the laser would be aimed at the eyes and both it and the flashbang would last longer on fauna accustomed to darker ecosystems. for instance 1 second for a Gasopod but up to 15 to something in a darker area.
Light-based weaponry of various types would probably work pretty well. It collides with Seamoth point defense a bit though, as a close-range-AOE attack. And the response to PD is a flee, usually. Even Reapers leave a Seamoth alone after you nail them with a zap.
Flash grenades would be thrown by hand, and Flash torpedoes would flash at their target not around the Seamoth/PRAWN itself.
