Mine comes from a sort of fidget-toy thing I got years ago, a 6-segmented corded-together (original cord snapped/broke/whatever and was replaced manually) thing - the blocks are rectangular prisms, like 1x1x2 where 2 is the height/different value. When arranged in a certain way, it 'becomes' the origin of my avatar. The different color segments represent the blocks' arrangement (roughly?). Design-patterns on the real one excluded but I have considered a version with stuff like them.
I made mine years ago back in early highschool. I was writing a series of short stories in a steampunk style world where magic and technology were conflicting with each other. The main character was named Khet Maxwell. It's also the name I used for many years when I found how bad it used to be to let people find out you were a girl online, heh.
I've been thinking about updating it for Krow (which is based off of my real life initials, using two letters from my middle name for the RO instead of just one) but it has some sentimentality for me.
Sentimentality is a good thing to indulge. If something has meaning to you, keep it. (But don't go overboard and let the things you are sentimental about define and control you.)
Sentiment is kind of why I use Alrekr Ironhand as my Steam handle. I have a name that I was given at birth, and I have a name that found me later in life. And the latter is who I am. The former is an accident of birth.
Does your username relate to the movie starring Kurt Russell and Martin Short; where Kurt plays the eponymous Captain Ron, and is hired to sail a boat through the Carribean? I *love* that movie; it's possibly my favorite movie that Kurt Russel's ever been in! Also props to StarCraft ^^
