Fighting animations

Hello,

I don't know if this has been proposed already or even if it is something planned by the devs, but I think having some battle animations for the big creatures is a must, otherwise any battle between them would look lame. I think it would be ok to have the smaller predators to just "ram" into preys, but if that was the case for say, reaper vs dragon or reaper/dragon vs reefback, if they just ram into each other until one of them dies it would look a bit lame.
What do you guys think?

    I think the real question is under what coincedence would they fight? Do not forget that each of the leviathan class creatures, including the Reefback, has their adobe on different biomes. Unlike us they are not transitionary, they may not go in and out of caves and or biomes, which is where you'll find them.

    Regardless I think no one here will reject this feature as unwanted. Personally it's gonna be awesome.

    Considering reefback's armor is so thick you can't even fully scan them it would make sense if leviathans wouldn't even bother with them, but they could attack the smaller younger ones.
    I don't think animations like these are necessary for the smaller predators, but having some cool hunting/devouring animations for the leviathans would be awesome

    On the subject of hunting/eating animations... The Sea Dragon has two animations that in my experience go almost entirely unused that relate to interacting with you that look pretty fun: One is it grabs your seamoth (only?) and shoves it into its mouth, but it just chews it up rather than outright swallows it. It looks neat, but it seems completely useless since AFAIK it only triggers when you're in your seamoth and the earliest you can find the Sea Dragon is already below the seamoth's maximum crush depth, rendering this animation and interaction pointless. It'd be pretty cool if it could just swallow it whole with you still inside, and unless it already does I think it should extend to the Exosuit as well - but maybe reserve the swallowing 1HKO effect for if the vehicle's at half health or lower so it's not completely annoying.

    The other involves the sea dragon eating you, but I feel this one's even more pointless than the first one. First of all, it only triggers if you're literally right in its face AND not in a vehicle. Secondly, its AI currently prefers lobbing molten rock at you or even more common ignoring you entirely. Yeah, the Reaper homes in on you from a mile away and doesn't let up, but the Sea Dragon actually enjoys breaking off its attack to swim to the opposite side of the chamber seemingly at random, or chasing down lava lizards over attacking you. As such, these two unique animations go almost entirely unused.

    I'd like to see Reapers use their claws to grab on prey like Sandsharks before eating them.

    @Rezca
    I remember reading that the seadragons will be placed at the edges of the map/in the void to deter players from venturing too far out. So that's probably what those animations are for.

    I suppose... Didn't really consider that, since I read it was just a potential solution they may or may not do. One other thing I just realized is that the Sea Dragon "might" try one of those attacks on you when you get out to deal with the lava parasites that drain power from your vehicles, but it seems a bit unlikely since it tends to prefer just shooting fireballs at you from a distance anyway.
