Maybe they though naming characters after a unit of length and a unit of weight wasn't quite fitting after all.
Are you just trying to play devil's advocate on like, every forum (that is truly an admirable cause, by the way)? Cause I've seen you around a lot... Also renaming them some anglo-saxon names like Paul and Bart does not reflect the lore that they're Mongolian. This IS supposed to be an exotic, alien world in an exotic, distant part of the galaxy. I'm all for keeping up that image.
I know ESRB is our supreme overlord and censorship is smiled upon by so many in this era, but i'm just chiming in with my disapproval. I find it less satisfying when I see this new yellow blood compared to the original. I really like Subnautica and its progress but I hate to see artistic visions censored like they so often are. I will prey for you guys to sneak in a .config option hidden somewhere that lets you turn red blood back on. (wink wink)*
I'm with them changing the blood color for ESRB reasons but I think they should chose a different color that doesn't look like the Gasopod's attack.
I also think a cool detail would be if Warper's had their own blood color (maybe purple or blue) that was different from the other fish seeing as they are modified creatures from another planet.
If it were yellow to begin with, nobody would have noticed or cared. I think the issue lies in that we KNOW WHY it's being changed, and it can seem a bit ridiculous. Just pixels, just color. Blood is still blood if it's oozing out of an open wound, regardless of color, but hey, whoever said the world is sane.
I mean, just look at nipples. *shrug*. I've been playing video games since forever... I can sort out fantasy from fiction. Hence, why I haven't turned into a murderer... or a plumber... or a miner, for that matter. Or a wizard! Although, were it possible, I think I'd go full wizard.
If they are going with biblical names it'd be cooler if they at least spelled them out "Bartholomew" is actually a weird looking name. According to some etymologies it may be derived from Ptolemy.
Probably not a patch, since the game isn't finished yet and the Dev's did it to avoid a higher moral rating.
There might be a mod out there some where though.
Yeah I can see why they changed the blood because ESRB can be so damn strict with their ratings.
Friday the 13th has to avoid drugs because of how much violence it already has, they don't want an adult only rating or their game to be banned in countries.

That kinda bugged me too. I'm not sure that Paal and Baat are Mongolian names either, but at least they don't sound like Americans or Brits.
