Lethal Weaponry

As far as the game goes(my current knowledge is of the Xbox 1 build), there are only 2 lethal weapons and 2 potentially lethal ones, being the knife and gas torpedos for lethal, and the propulsion cannon and repulsion cannon. Considering that the game is underwater, for the most part, it would be great to see harpoon guns and little CO₂ propulsed dart guns. I would, however, make these useless or almost useless above water. My thoughts for ammunition for the harpoon gun would be standard harpoons, harpoons with a rope to maybe hit a Stalker with and swim with as it drags you along, and diamond hardened harpoons. The harpoon gun shoots once before manually reloading(manual to help with roped harpoons). The CO₂ dart gun, held like a pistol, would have 3-4 barrels, meaning 3-4 before reloading. The darts would do less damage than the harpoons. CO₂ tanks would be needed to refill both. The dart special ammo would be the standard dart, sleeping dart, poison dart, and tracker dart. The first 2 don't need explaining, but the poison dart would cause damage over time, and the tracker dart could go with the scanner room or Cyclops. Also, I think the repulsion cannon should be more like a shotgun effect instead. Also, maybe an explosive torpedo for the Seamoth as well.

in the game it specifically states weapons being removed from survival blueprints after a slaughter, with the knife being the only exception as a survival tool

That, and the devs simply don't want a lot of lethal weaponry.

You can breed Crashes in an Alien Containment unit and use them as RPGs with the Propulsion Cannon.

That is true, but I think at least the CO₂ dart gun could have the things mentioned, such as the sleep dart and tracking darts, the other 2 lethal ones are just kinda there. Such as having the initial dart for modding the sleep, poison, and tracker, and the poison dart from rubbing a normal dart on a Rabbit Ray, which has poisonous skin.

Not that you need any of that, given the current tools are sufficient enough.

For the big stuff: Stasis Rifle+knife, and/or Torpedoes.
For everything else, ram it with your seamoth.

The problem with that is that the stasis rifle is a mid tier tool, and I hate going into the creepvine areas and having to avoid Stalkers because a knife isn't enough for me. I like keeping any threat at as much of a disadvantage that I can.

so you want deadly weapons at the start of the game?
m8 do you even know what game you're playing?

I'd make it a starter BP, but give it rarer resources like silver, lithium, etc. That way, you could see you have it, but you would have to venture outward more to get it.

So you just want to make it mid tier for different reasons?

That makes it harder to get than the Stasis Rifle tbh

I haven't gotten the stasis rifle once in any of my playthroughs

I would just want it to be a little more accessible is all, instead of finding fragments, or maybe even find the full items near the main wreckage or something.

Quoted wrong person btw, this is for dealwithitdog

I never felt the need to use the stasis rifle. Everything you want from a gun or harpoon thrower, you can have with the Propulsion Cannon, and more.

It's not in a very inaccessible region now. Bone sharks are easy to avoid, and you just need pipes if you don't have enough air to make it early game. Besides, I wouldn't call it a "standard survival blueprint" because that's all you start with.

It would be nice if we could use Stalker Teeth as harpoons in the Prop Cannon

I like Subnautica combat more than most games. It reminds me of Overwatch (loosely, guys). It's not COD where you just shoot something until it dies, but you have to use strategy to keep stuff at bay, for example the old combination of propulsion cannon to stasis rifle works pretty well for getting creatures away. I just wished they had more, like if you throw a flare it would distract the creature, or if you kicked up sand it would blind the creature for a second, giving you a chance to put it into stasis. Just more things like that to improve combat would be nice.
